Rock Wren

Our family has been doing more birding than ever this year, and it’s the first time we’ve located this adorable little bird. We have seen multiple hopping around a hillside of rocks diligently finding insects to eat by a nearby reservoir. If it was sitting still, we wouldn’t have a chance of seeing it because it blends right in to the surrounding. We have been lucky to find them moving so very quickly about - which makes them possible to spot, but extremely difficult to photograph! Their name and ability to camouflage into the rocks reminds me of how we are able to hide in the safety of God, who is our rock.

Psalm 18:2 "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

I pray that you would find refuge, peace, and comfort today in God, our mighty rock!
