Green Winged Teal

The green winged teal is quite a small duck that is about half the size of a mallard. Their smallness makes them very cute in my opinion. The males are striking with their cinnamon and green heads, but both males and females hold a hidden secret - a beautiful green patch on their wing. At rest, it’s unseen, but when they move a certain way, they flash that beautiful green patch. The patch is particularly interesting on the female whose overall look is plain (as is the case with female birds in general) to keep her hidden while nesting.

I think about how this patch is something that makes this duck look special, and each of us has something special - gifts God has given us - that may sometimes seem hidden or unseen.

Romans 12:6 “We all have different gifts. Each gift came because of the grace God gave us.”

I pray today that God would bring forth all the hidden gifts and talents that he has graced you with!
